Peppe Servillo
The concert is entirely dedicated to Renato Carosone
After “Presentimento” and “Spassiunatamente”, with which they approached with due respect masterpieces of the classic Neapolitan song, PEPPE SERVILLO & SOLIS STRING QUARTET bring to the stage a new concert, this time entirely dedicated to Renato Carosone.
“Carosonamente is a fascinating combination of music and words, true stories and popular beliefs, stories of the people and by the people. From the classics “”Tu vuo’ fa l’americano”, “Torero” and “’O sarracino”, passing through less famous songs like “Tre guagliune e ‘nu mandolino” to masterpieces full of irony like “Pigliate ‘na pastiglia” up to reaching melancholic songs and lyrics of the post-war period like “Giacca rossa ‘e russetto” and “T’aspetto ‘ e nove”.
As Peppe Servillo himself states:
"We laugh with songs, but not only that, Renato moves us, he is moved by looking with caressing irony at his bullfighters, Sarracini, Americans. Carosone thinks with affection of his people, with a simple humor, from below, without sarcasm, without power, without malice in his smile. He takes us far away, deliberately taking the wrong path, due to an unexpected musical and verbal error, we follow him hoping not to cause damage, maybe we dress up and we don't recognize each other.
